Dubai to construct world’s biggest mall
Dubai on Saturday declared the “Mall of the World” which will have a capacity of 80 million visitors a year to become the “largest in the world,” while its park will be “30% bigger than Hyde Park of London.”
The leader of the Gulf desert city state, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, was quoted as saying that there would be a new city within Dubai, with this Mall coming up. The plan includes new residential areas, even though the emirate maintains a surplus of built units. The mall is said to be attached to a family amusement centre, which would be developed in collaboration with Universal Studios International.
Dubai’s tourism is touted to be growing by 13% every year.
