Chandigarh Carnival 2013 promises to be more happening than its Goa counterpart
Chandigarh: With preparations underway for the three-day Chandigarh Carnival that will be inaugurated on November 22 this year, the festival that was started on the lines of Goa Carnival is being eagerly looked upon by people of all age groups.
The arrangements for the Carnival that will be held in Leisure Valley have already been started.
With Diwali celebrations just finished, the people of Chandigarh are awaiting this festival with eagerness, which just promises to be more bigger and better.
The theme of the Carnival has been decided keeping in mind the recreational activities of the children and some moments of leisure for the elderly. Swings, camel rides, and many other forms of games will be available for children whereas for the youth there will be many cultural activities.
With food stalls and eateries on the cards in the Carnival to attract customers throughout the day to take their pick of best of ethnic food, amusement park will be a major appeal for the youngsters.
Organised by the Chandigarh Carnival Society every year, this year’s Carnival festival will start itself with a parade. The Carnival parade is expected to start from Leisure Valley and would go through various parts of the city.
The major source of attraction would be the students of the Art College who would be participating in the Floats Parade.
CITCO’s General Manager (Tourism), Arvind Malhotra, said that awareness about the various haunting social issues would be raised at the various stalls. The children visiting the stalls of the Traffic police would be informed about the various traffic rules.
With less than a month to begin, the Chandigarh Carnival, from November 22 to November 24, promises to be a perfect destination for merriment and joy for the residents.
