Punjab: 24-year-old abducted, gang-raped; 5 arrested

Chandigarh: The Delhi gang-rape shook the whole country and bought out a lot of questions from different stratas of society, including the political class. Vigilence came to new highs and  a nationwide ripple effect was felt  for changing the dynamics of the legal framework in country. But despite the shaking and stirring of the entire system, the violent incidents of sexual terrorism dont seem to stop. 
 
In the latest incident, a 24-year-old woman was gang-raped on Friday night in Punjab's Gurdaspur district after she was abducted from a bus in which she was travelling. 
 
According to the police, the woman, who is married, was on her way from her family home in Pathankot to her husband's house in Gurdaspur and had boarded a minibus. Seven men, who were on the bus, took the woman to an isolated spot and raped her.
 
The police have arrested five accused, while two of them are on the run. Those arrested include the driver and the conductor of the bus, the police said.
