Delhi gang rape: Eye witness 'friend' rejects security by police

New Delhi: The immense public support for the victim of the December 16th Delhi gang rape and murder case has lent courage not just to her family but the friend who was with her on the fateful night as well. As a key eye witness he had been offered police protection according to his father.

The software engineer who had witnessed the gruesome rape and torture and had himself suffered serious injury when he was beaten up, has refused the security cover offered by Delhi police.

His father told reporters over the phone that he had sent back the sub-inspector who had approached him with the proposal.

The father too feels that his son is safe everywhere in the country as people are with them.
