Delhi gang-rape: Man arrested for helping bus owner with documents
New Delhi: A man, who provided forged ration card to the owner of the private bus, which was involved in the gang-rape of December 16 was arrested, said reports. The man, Rakham Singh, a resident of Bhajanpura in north east Delhi had provided the ration card on payment of Rs 1,000.
The chartered bus owner – Dinesh Yadav was arrested for fraud as he had submitted false documents to get a registration certificate and permit. According to police, 11 buses were registered with Dinesh, a resident of Kamalpur in Burari.
It was reported that the owner, furnished a ration card, a passbook and a driving license as address proof at the time of registration. However, the landlord told police that Dinesh never stayed at that address.
Rakam, when interrogated by police, revealed that he used to charge Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 for providing ration cards.
Meanwhile, a case of fraud was registered in the Civil Lines police station against the owner – Dinesh Yadav on January 2, who runs Yadav Travel Agency, after the state transport department lodged a complaint against him.
After the transport department was ordered to cancel the driving permit and license of the bus on which the victim was gang-raped, it was learnt that false documents were submitted for registration of vehicles and address mentioned on the papers is bogus. It was also learnt that the travel agency runs as many as 10 other private buses and cars, which too are registered on the same fake address.
