Delhi gang-rape: Victim's purported photo is of Kerala student, claims Tharoor
New Delhi: He is the controversy's favourite child!
Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor is in the eye of the storm again by claiming the purported pictures of the victim on social media are apparently of a Kerala engineering student.
"There's so much disinformation going around now. Purported pix of the victim on social media are apparently of a Kerala engineering student," Tharoor tweeted.
He has gone on to tweet that if the parents do not object, the name and identity of the victim ought to be revealed in order for her to be honored across the nation.
"Unless her parents object, she should be honoured and the revised anti-rape law named after her. She was a human being with a name, not just a symbol," he tweets.
"Wondering what interest is served by continuing anonymity of the Delhi gang-rape victim. Why not name and honour her as a real person with own identity?" said Tharoor on social networking site.
Fake photos of the Delhi gang-rape victim have gone viral on the internet. Dailybhaskar does not know the source or origin of these pictures. However, what is infuriating is that some pranksters feel it is ok to pick up pictures of innocent women and photoshop them and post them online as those of the victim.
