Two Doctors dismissed in the Delhi trauma centre tragedy
New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday dismissed two doctors after five patients died at government-run Shushruta Trauma Centre after their oxygen supply was allegedly cut off during maintenance work. The doctors - Dr Teena Khurana and Dr Richa Gupta - who have been dismissed were incharge of repair and maintenance.
Meanwhile, a Delhi court rejected the bail plea of the two people, who arrested in connection with the case, and sent them to 14 days judicial custody. Metropolitan Magistrate Chhavi Kapoor remanded supervisor Madanlal Sharma and technician Amit Singh Katoch to judicial custody.
Madanlal and Amit were arrested following investigations into the incident which took place at Shushruta Trauma Centre in North Delhi on Tuesday. They both are employees of a private firm which had been given the contract for supplying Oxygen gas cylinders to the hospital and maintain its centralised gas plant.
