Ahmedabad: International working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Dr Pravin Togadia had a miraculous escape on Monday when a police van rammed into his vehicle near Liliya in Amreli district.
According to sources, Pravin Togadia, who has been provided with Z plus security, was going to Rajkot from his hometown Sajan Timba, 19 km from Amreli.
An ambulance, which was part of his convoy, collided with a police van which rammed into the vehicle in which Togadia was travelling. “Two people in the ambulance suffered minor injuries in the accident while Togadia had a miraculous escape,” a source said. However, the VHP leader suspects that there was conspiracy behind the accident. “I don’t think that it was just an accident. How can an ambulance, fourth in the convoy from my vehicle, ram into a vehicle after jumping two other police vans? There can be a conspiracy and I have registered a complaint in this regard with the district police,” Togadia told DNA.
However, police maintain that this was just an accident. “There was a collision between an ambulance and a police vehicle. Pravin Togadia did not suffer any injuries. He was taken to Rajkot in a police vehicle,” said Shobha Bhutada, Amreli ASP.
