Honda sales jump 87% this November

New Delhi: Other than the recent success story of the Honda Amaze sedan, the Japanese carmaker has a lot to be happy about. As per data revealed, the month of November saw a hike of 87%  in sales volumes in the domestic region. A total of 3,711 cars were sold this November, as compared to the 1,982 cars sold in the corresponding month last year. However, many say that the flood in Thailand had a big role to bring down the fortunes of the company.
The year 2012 by and large, seems to have spelt well for the Honda group in India. Taking the period of April to Novermber this year, the sales rose to 31,699 units, which is a 49% on an yearly basis compared to the same time period of last year. The biggest success story in all of this, has been the Honda Brio, which has sold 2,199 units followed by the City sedan which sold 1,218 units for the month of November alone. Now that the Brio Amaze sedan is here, Honda will be hoping the growth is sustained, but it would still be a tough call, comparing the premium pricing of the car at Rs 8.11 lakhs for the base model, whereas its competitors around Rs 1 lakh cheaper.
