Asaram Bapu illegally occupied property worth R 700 cr?
Mumbai/Ratlam: Recently in the eye of a storm for his comments on the victim of the Delhi gang rape, controversial God man Asaram Bapu is now facing charges of illegal occupation of property along with his son Narayan Sai.
The land in question is a 200 acre plot in Ratlam estimated to be worth 700 crores. According to the SFIO which has been entrusted with the case, it belongs to Pune freight corridor located private company Jayant Vitamins.
Asaram had initially rented it for a fee of a Rs. 1000 a day for a period of 11 days in 2002. The SFIO has received an application requesting permission to file legal charges against the God man, his son and a few others.
Company officials Madanlal Sharma and Vijay Prasad had filed charges of illegal occupation in the Finance Ministry, CBI and Company Law Board on the 25th of November 2005.
Neither Asaram nor his son was available for comment.
