High-profile sex racket in Mumbai beauty parlour busted
Mumbai: The crime branch has claimed to have busted a high-profile flesh trade racket that was being run under the garb of a beauty parlour in Ballard Estate area of south Mumbai.
Three semi-nude girls from Rajasthan and West Bengal were rescued during the raid at New Star Beauty Salon in Dock View building. The manager of the place, Ismail Batatwala, was not present.
Police have arrested the salon manager, Habiba Shaikh, along with two pimps. They have been charged under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
According to media reports, the parlour used to get "high-profile clients from across Maharashtra, Rajasthan and West Bengal".
Police said customers were offered packages ranging from Rs 25,000 with the option of choosing a partner for sex.
