Mumbai: When Vijay Mallya celebrates, the world watches. The UB Group chairman has taught the hedonists in India, and even round the World, the art of partying. Mallya’s innovations in merry-making had already caught the fancy of everyone, but it went a step further when he bought the Indian Empress, a private yacht.
The 95-meter long Indian Empress, which is one of the largest in the world, has been in the thick of action ever since Mallya bought it from a Qatari royal family. From hosting F1 parties commemorating the successes of Mallya’s F1 team Force India to throwing business parties with some of the richest men onboard, Indian Empress has seen it all.
The red and white ambience of the gigayacht, when amid the blue waters of high seas, make it one of the hottest party spots in the world. Add to it the state-of-the art facilities including presidential suites, steam room, lift and garage for Mercedes among others, and what you get is opulence.
We present to you a journey of the luxury yacht, ever since it came to be known as Indian Empress. With the royal family, it was called Al-Mirqab.
