Bhopal tank collapse: Municipal corporation and state govt at loggerheads
Bhopal: The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has blamed the state government for the collapse of the water tank that killed 7 persons in Sai Baba Nagar in the city. While an inquiry is going on, the BMC officials state that the accident did not take place because of their fault.
BMC additional commissioner Pramod Shukla said that the corporation is not responsible for the accident and the tank was made by the Public Health Engineering Department in 1987. He went on to add that the state government had then approved it despite knowing that the design had errors in it.
On the other side, urban administration and development minister Babulal Gaur remarked that since the investigation is underway, he cannot comment on the matter.
