Indore: With the arrest of three youths, police claimed to have busted a gang of burglars involved in thefts in Pardeshipura area on Wednesday. Police also recovered stolen jewellery from their possession.

CSP Rajesh Danotia told DNA, "After receiving a tip-off, three youths were taken into custody on the suspicion of their involvement in thefts in Pardeshipura and Banganga area. During interrogation, they confessed to their crimes."

The accused were identified as Javed Khan, a resident of Lal Gali Pardeshipura in connection with a theft. He had stolen gold earrings, Mangalsutra, anklets and mobile phone from a house of an employee of a private firm on August 23 when the landlord had gone to pay obeisance at Omkareshawar.

Taking advantage of deserted houses of SAF constable Ritesh Kaushik in Sunder Nagar on the night of November 24, the burglars had entered the house by breaking locks. They made away with cash, jewellery and other items worth Rs 4 lakh, Dandotia claimed.

The accused had also written abuses against police on the walls of the house. Ritesh is a constable posted at Rustamji Armed Police Training College and was on duty when the theft occurred.

His family members had also gone to attend some function at relative's place.

Police recovered gold rings, pendants, silver anklets and coins weighing around 300 grams.
