NCRPC team visits Indore to find truth about sex change operations
Indore: A team of the National Child Rights Protection Commission on Friday visited Indore in connection with the issue of sex change.
The team checked the records of four hospitals, including MY Hospital.
In order to get details of the surgery being done in the name of Genitoplasty, they summoned several child specialists.
The eight-member team comprising specialists from different streams was headed by Vijay Kumar Tikku. The team had specialist doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and advocate as well.
The team started the checking at Medicare Hospital in Ravindra Nagar. The team stayed there for almost three hours, following which it left for MY Hospital, where it checked the records till 7 pm.
The nursing staff and junior doctors were also questioned if they ever were part of any such surgery.
Records were also checked at CHL Apollo Hospital till 8.30 pm. The paramedical staff were also quizzed along with the doctors.
Following this, the team went to the Bombay Hospital, where the management denied any possibility of such plastic surgery or Genitoplasty.
According to sources, seven such operations have been done at this hospital.
Sources further said that records of all the hospitals, where such surgeries were done, were checked by the team.
