RTE set to revolutionise private school education in MP

Bhaskar News   |  Apr 19, 2011, 07:32AM IST

Indore: Madhya Pradesh has become the first state where if a school fails to get required number of candidates under the quota category in a ward, it needs to take the students from neighbouring ward or village.

In addition to this, the schools will need to provide the same facilities to such candidates, which it provides to the students belonging to the general category.

The instructions in this regard have been issued by the school education department.

The conveners of private schools on Monday launched the workshop to decide on the admission of 25 per cent students as per the equal and free education prescribed under the Right to Education Act.

Representatives of over 600 private schools attended the first day of the workshop at Sarafa School in Mahu Naka.

In the first phase, principals and conveners of CBSE schools connected with the Sahodaya Group attended the meeting.

The questions posed by them were answered directly by school education secretary and state education centre commissioner Manoj Jhaalani.

The norms of the RTE Act were explained by DPC M K Tripathi.
