Chennai: 20-year-old acid attack victim loses battle for life

Chennai: After battling for her life for 25 days, the 20-year-old acid attack victim, Vidya, breathed her last at Government Kilpauk Hospital on Sunday.
According to media reports, the girl had suffered severe burns on January 30, which had corroded soft tissues. Reports state that she was battling infection for the past four days.
Vidya was attacked by Vijaya Bhaskar, who was angry that she had spurned him.
Earlier that police had registered a case of attempt to murder, on Sunday, the case was amended to murder and registered it under Section 302 of IPC.
