Punjab: Now view land records online
Chandigarh: Punjab's Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Tuesday said all land records in the State will be computerised within the next six months.
Majithia said the SAD-BJP Government had initiated the mega task of computerising all land records in its previous term, and 147 of total 160 'Fard (Revenue) Kendras' have become fully operational with the rest 13 to be operational by September this year. "We have computerised the land record of 11,500 villages and now every villager can get a copy of Fard across the counter at a nominal rate of Rs 20 per page instantly", he told reporters.
Majithia said he has issued directions to Financial Commissioner Revenue to start helpline numbers in every district so that any villager can get any mistake in the land record rectified by reporting on this. The Minister said that the department has also started putting land record on the web so that any person can view the status of his land record sitting at home.
Promising transparent, corruption-free and people-friendly revenue administration, Majithia said that his endeavour would be to improve the interaction of people with the department and he would ensure that every citizen gets due respect from all revenue authorities.
