Jaipur: In a joint effort, officials of the Jaipur police and the Delhi police have decided to check rising number of robberies by illegal Bangladeshi nationals in the Pink City.

In order to nab illegal Bangladeshi nationals involved in robberies in recent past, a team of the Jaipur police is camping in Delhi for the last few weeks.

The joint operation has been actuated by the arrest of Bangladeshi youth Khalid in recent robberies at the house of a cop and an advocate in Bajaj Nagar of Jaipur.

The 24-year-old arrested youth not only admitted to his role in the robbery at the Bajaj Nagar house, but also confided about the role of his gang members (all Bangladeshis) in the robberies in the posh Jagatpura and Himmat Nagar areas around Diwali last year.

The armed robbers had looted a Meena family in Jagatpura and caused the forced abortion of a pregnant woman in the house, besides striking the house of a family in Himmat Nagar, near Bajaj Nagar where they struck recently.

Spilling the beans about the modus operandi of the gang, Khalid disclosed after infiltrating into India, they made Delhi their base. He said after committing the crime in Jaipur, the gangsters usually escaped to Delhi at their safe havens.

Since then, a team of the Jaipur police has been camping in Delhi and working with their counterparts to track down the gang of illegal Bangladeshis hiding there.

Jaipur ACP Crime Anil Paliwal told DNA a team of Jaipur police has been helped by their counterparts in Delhi to nab the Bangladeshi gangsters holed up there.
