Unaware, McDonalds launched a campaign asking people to use the hastag #McDStories for their suppliers to share the ingredients with the consumers. The campaign fired back, when unsatisifed Mcdonald customer started using the hashtag to complain about the poor quality of service offered by the restaurant.

Snickers

Chocolate bar manufacturer, snickers 'hijacked' the accounts of Katie Price and Rio Ferdinand for a publicity stunt.

Not known to post political tweet, Katie Price tweeted about Eurozone economic crisis. The tweet left many people speculating that her account has been hacked.

The tweets was followed by one that said-"You’re not you when you’re hungry @snickersuk #hungry #spon", with a photograph of Katie Price holding the snickers bar.

The gag did help snickers in garnering some rave reviews, but left many fans of Price-miffed. Apparently, two users even complained to the Advertising Standards Authority, but an investigation cleared Mars of any wrongdoing.

Many outlets in New York saw Hurricane Sandy as an opportunity to make some quick bucks. Stores launched promotional campaign to sell their products. However, one store went to far and posted the following message on their Twitter account.
