Yuvraj Singh to establish cricket academy in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal would be offering 20 acres of land to Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh to setup a cricket academy. The cricketer is interested in setting up an academy in the city of Chandigarh for budding sports persons.
Yuvraj Singh accompanied by his mother Shabnam Singh, called on honorable chief minister at his residence. Yuvraj Singh expressed his desire to establish state-of-the-art sports academy near Chandigarh to impart training to the budding players in cricket, hockey, golf and tennis.
The minister appreciated the proposal, put forward by the cricketer and asked his Principal Secretary to finalize the modalities for the allotment of requisite land.
Badal told Yuvraj that the state government had already set up a sports school at Ghudha in Bathinda district to impart quality education and sports training to our youth to enable them to exhibit their talent at national as well as international tournaments.
Earlier, Yuvraj Singh got to meet actor, director Anupam Kher on flight.
