‘Real Madrid will miss Jose Mourinho once he’s gone’

New Delhi: With the Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho reported to quit in June 2013, many believe that the Portuguese will be missed once he’s gone. The former Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi backed his former manager.

The Italian believes that people in Spain will not fully appreciate the value of Jose Mourinho’s accomplishments at Real Madrid until he has left the club.

Materazzi feels that Mourinho, who has been under fire over Real Madrid’s poor form this season, deserves more respect for what he has done at Santiago Bernabeu.

While talking to a Madrid-based sports paper, Materazzi said that when Mourinho leaves Spain people will value what he’s achieved, as they did in Italy.

Materazzi also said that Mourinho’s main objective at Madrid is to help the club to their 10th European Cup title. He believes that Mourinho’s priority remains the Champions League and winning Madrid it’s 10th title.

Real Madrid finished second in Group D behind Borussia Dortmund – but ahead of Ajax and Manchester City – to book their berth for the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League.
