Chennai: While showcasing the true class of a champion cricketer on Day 2 of the first Test against Australia, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar created yet another record on Saturday. The master blaster completed 3,500 runs in Test cricket against Australia, during the first Test at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

The Indian ‘god of cricket’ shut his critics with a fluent unbeaten half-century against the Australian opponents in the first innings of the hosts. He took a single off Moises Henriques in the 41st over to create the record.

Tendulkar has a splendid batting average of 58.38 against the Australians in his 23-year long career, wherein he slammed 11 centuries and 16 half-centuries.

The other Indian batsmen who are behind Tendulkar includes VVS Laxman(2434 runs in 29 Tests), Rahul Dravid(2143 runs in 32 Tests) and Virender Sehwag(1713 runs in 21 Tests).

Meanwhile, India lost three wickets to Australian speedster James Pattinson but fought back via Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, ending Day 2 at 182 for three in the first Test against Australia.
