Russian Tycoon to visit Mars for 8 days by 2018

Moscow: American investment tycoon, Dennis Tito, 77-year-old, is planning to send himself on a historic 501-day-long mission to Mars.
Tito the first paying passenger to visit the International Space Station (ISS), is understood to be planning a full-scale mission to the Red Planet by the end of 2018, according to news report published in Daily Mail.
The details of the planner visit emerged in media advisory notice published on the SpaceRef website.
The notice also included information about a press conference where a formal announcement could be made.
Tito, a former rocket engineer, founded Santa Monica based Wilshire Associates, a multi-billion dollar investment firm.
He created history when he became the first payed tourist on ISS. He paid USD 20million for an eight day trip on ISS, onboard Russia's Soyuz TM-32 spacecraft.
Since then, six other tycoons have repeated Tito's fete.
The mission is expected to be a flyby of Mars, without stopping, followed by a return to earth.
