Bengaluru: Cracking the whip on supporters of former CM BS Yeddyurappa within the BJP, Karnataka CM announced the expulsion of state minister BJ Puttaswamy and Lok Sabha MP G Basavraj for ‘anti-party’ activities.
The decision was announced by the Jagadish Shettar and president of Karnataka BJP KS Eshwarappa at a press conference today.
Interestingly, Shettar’s daring move comes a day after Yeddyurappa warned the Karnataka CM to not to suspend any of his loyalists from the party.
If BJP did so, Yeddyurappa had threatened that he would leave no stones unturned in making sure that the government falls after December 9, the date on which a massive rally has been organised by BSY’s fledgling Karnataka Janta Party(KJP).
Yeddyurappa could not be reached for an immediate comment on the latest development.
