Tata Motors sold over 1 lakh 27 thousand vehicle units globally in February 2012, accounting for a 24% jump in sales over the same period the previous year.
The company sold a total of 127,318 vehicles, including Jaguar Land Rovers in the second month of 2011, says an official press release by Tata.
It added cumulative sales for the fiscal are 1,112,518, or higher by 15%, compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.
“Global sales of all commercial vehicles - Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range -- were 57,857 nos. in December 2011, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 425,264 nos., a growth of 24%,” the release said.
A total of 69,461 passenger vehicles were sold globally in February 2011, higher by 25%.
Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were at 37,204 nos., for the month, higher by 9% over February 2011. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are at 298,420 nos.
The release said global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in February 2011 were at 42,257 units, higher by 49% over February 2011. While Jaguar sales for the month were 4,228 units, higher by 32%, Land Rover sales were 28,029 units, higher by 27%.
