Video-conferencing finally launched in Chandigarh courts

Video-conferencing was finally launched in the Chandigarh District Courts in the presence of District and Sessions Judge S K Aggarwal on Thursday(November 22). The facility was also launched in the Model Jail, Burail, in the presence of Adviser to U T Administrator K K Sharma.
The video-conferencing facility, which was started by Home Secretary Anil Kumar at both the places, between the jail and the district courts was started as per the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
On the occasion, cases of 21 undertrials were heard by duty magistrate Sukhda Pritam. The accused who await challans to be submitted by the police will be heard through video-conferencing from now on between 2 and 2.30 pm every day by the duty magistrate.
