New Delhi: Security agencies have issue an alert that terrorists posing as women may try to enter the airport with drugs or explosives. Now, pregnant women may have to undergo a double security check at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The alert came after a woman was arrested in Colombia in Sourth America last month for trying to smuggle cocaine in a fake bump. A similar alert was issued two months ago amid fears that women terrorists may use breast implants as bombs.
As keeping every pregnant passenger in the suspicious category would mean inconvenience to many, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has directed its staff to concentrate more on profiling of such passengers.
If a pregnant woman is selected for a second round of checking, the concerned officer will take her to a separate enclosure to confirm she is not faking her pregnancy, say media reports.
Women CISF staff have been directed to follow pregnant women as soon as one enters the airport and stop her at the security point only if her movement is found suspicious.
