New Delhi/Balia: Father of the Delhi gang rape victim feels proud over the overwhelming support the nation manifested in his daughter's support. In his native village in UP's Ballia district, he said he doesn't have any objection over new rape law being named on her daughter's name.
He added he wants an NGO to be opened in the name of her daughter to create awareness about rising crime against women throughout the country. In an interaction with media persons, he said opening of an NGO in his ‘martyred’ daughter’s name will make her ‘immortal’.
Earlier on Thursday, Delhi Police submitted a 1000-page chargesheet in a court in Saket against the six accused who were arrested following the national uproar after the 23-year old paramedical student was gang raped and assaulted for death.
Charges of gang-rape, murder, kidnapping, criminal assault and robbery among other sections of IPC have been pressed against the accused. The chargesheet was filed in the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Saket.
The Singapore doctor, who carried out the post-mortem of the rape victim, will be included as a witness by the police in its chargesheet, the sources said.
