New Delhi: Considering the grim traffic situation on Delhi roads, which only appears to grow worse with time, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is planning to introduce new fleets of high-tech buses in order to tackle the growing menace, as per a news report published by the Mail Today.
The public transport network is ready to get a fillip with about 5,500 buses in pipeline – 1,100 already on the ground with some more to follow. The buses will also carry CCTV cameras.
Mail Today quotes a senior Transport Official saying the new plan will help to unclog the streets of the city.
As per reports, the buses will be provided by the various private companies and introduced in phases and clusters of routes.
The report also says that a tender for 5,500 buses has been floated already for buses with low floor and normal ones.
The officials are looking towards aspect of woman security on buses while finalizing the tenure.
As buses will have CCTV cameras installed along with GPS, tracking the movement and location of buses will be very easy with them.
