New Delhi: In a shocker the investigators of the Geetika Sharma suicide case on Tuesday revealed that the prime witness in the case and for the police — Chanshivroop has managed to escape to the United States. Notably, he recorded his statement in the court on November 27 and that was the last time that he was seen. Chanshivroop’s father on Saturday had said that his son has gone missing.
After reaching the US, he had taken help of a few people in New York, showed his call records.
Former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda had employed Chanshivroop as an assistant manager in the human resources department in his MDLR Company and the latter reported to Aruna Chaddha. He was held for his alleged role in harassing airhostess Geetika Sharma after the police got to know that Chanshivroop had gone to Dubai on Kanda's behest to force Geetika to return to India. Chanshivroop had also sent threatening mails to Geetika, added the cops.
The cops had quietly arrested Chanshivroop in mid-November for forgery; however he later got bail. He became a police witness in early November; cops didn't seize his passport though.
The police say that Kanda’s resources must have helped him to flee to the US, while Kanda's counsel has rubbished all such allegations.
