Is Arvind Kejriwal really different from Sheila Dikshit; 5 things that suggest otherwise

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party, which rose to power in the national capital based on its promise of 'clean politics', its stand against 'corruption', and 'common man's say' in government, now finds itself surrounded by rebel party workers. The rebels have targeted AAP for failing to keep its promise and duping people by playing with ‘words’ in its manifesto.
Aam Aadmi Party legislator Vinod Kumar Binny on Thursday held a press conference and expressed his dissatisfaction over the style of working of Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
"This party works on the principle that Arvind Kejriwal's word must prevail," he alleged.

Binny accused AAP and Arvind Kejriwal of "lying to" and "cheating" the people of Delhi by backtracking on election promises and deviating from core principles.
"He who has lied should resign from his position, be it Arvind Kejriwal or I," Binny said during the press conference, adding, "There is a difference between what AAP says and does."
However, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal dismissed Binny's revolt as disgruntlement because he has been denied a ticket to contest the national election, due by May.
"First he came for a ministerial post, we refused. Then he came for a Lok Sabha seat. We have decided that no MLA will contest the Lok Sabha polls. If anyone wants to leave the party, they can," he said.
Following are some of the key points where Kejriwal's stand on corruption, his changing mode against Congress looks doubtful.
Nepotism of a different kind:Arvind Kejriwal has been accused of giving more importance to Manish Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi and Kumar Vishwas despite several allegations against them. Vinod Kumar Binny said Kejriwal ignored allegations against them since Kejriwal, Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi and Kumar Vishwas have known each other for a long time and hence are given more importance. According to Binny, it is nothing but nepotism in which people who are closely connected to higher ups are given undue advantage over others.
Decisions - Prerogative of Arvind Kejriwal and his close aides: AAP workers including Captain Abhimanyu, Mallika Sarabhai, Tina Sharma and Vinod Kumar Binny say all the decisions are made by Arvind Kejriwal and his close aides in closed-door meetings where other legislators are not even allowed to present their opinions.
Kejriwal soft on Congress/Sheila Dikshit: People have even started questioning as to why the Delhi Chief Minister has gone soft on Sheila Dikshit after forming the government with the support of Congress. Before the elections, Kejriwal had come up with scams and corruption details against former Delhi government. Kejriwal had promised to investigate corruption charges against former Delhi chief minister. However, he has been silent since the formation of government with Congress' support.
Soft approach toward Kejriwal’s favourites: Even though AAP came into power riding on its anti-corruption stand, clean and honest politics and targeting on 'corrupt' parties such as Congress and BJP, Arvind Kejriwal failed to initiate any action against the allegations on its own leaders including Shazia Ilmi and Somnath Bharti. Kejriwal did not act against Kumar Vishwas also who had courted controversy by his comments on Muslims.
AAP and Kejriwal no different on vote bank politics: The Delhi chief minister was recently criticised after he met a Bareilly-based politician Taufeeq Raza. He doused questions on Khap and Naxalism. Another AAP leader Yogendra Yadav was recently seen discussing ‘reservation’ which clearly indicates that AAP too has indulged in vote bank politics.
People have already witnessed examples of vote bank politics by AAP when during the Delhi assembly election when Arvind Kejriwal had inducted several Muslims into its fold amid much fanfare. Later, it formed a Sikh cell to reach out to the community.
Four constituencies in Delhi are dominated by Sikhs. Muslims dominate four constituencies and have a considerable say in nine areas.
