MIRACLE on CCTV: Woman jumps in front of speeding Delhi Metro train, gets run over but emerges unscathed

New Delhi: A young woman had, indeed, a miraculous escape as she emerged unscathed after jumping in front of a speeding train at a Delhi Metro station.
The footage of the apparent suicide attempt has been accessed by Hindustan Times, and has already gone viral on the web.
DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal has confirmed the incident and alleged to the daily that it was most probably a suicide attempt.
HT also quotes CISF officials, responsible for maintaining security in Delhi Metro, claiming that the incident took place at the Civil Lines station on June 9 at around 5 in the evening. Being Sunday, the overcrowded station wears a deserted look as gauged from the 48-second video clip.
Reportedly, her age is said to be 21 years and she lived in a neighbouring slum at time of incident. After being pulled up on the platform by a male commuter, she was detained by the station manager who ‘released’ her only after calling the girl's father.
No guards were present in the vicinity at that time.
Officials have been quoted as reasoning that she might have been saved due to a ‘ditch or depression’ on the spot where she laid to commit suicide.
