The idea of airing 'Crime Patrol-Dastak' episode, based on the Delhi brutal gang-rape case tonight, hasn’t gone down well with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The ministry has advised the channel to avoid airing the show.
IB had issued an advisory to all other channels to not to telecast any show on the sensitive case.
"The episode of the Delhi gang rape case won't be telecast today (Friday) on Sony due to unavoidable circumstances. It would be telecast later on a new schedule," a source has been quoted as saying.
Sony has refused to comment anything on the advisory issued by the ministry. "I am not going to make any comment on this one," said Sneha, Senior Executive Vice President & Business Head - SET (SONY Entertainment Television). Later she tweeted,"One of those days .... When you just want to SCREAM .. At my helplessness ...(sic)."
Her next tweet confirmed the episode was not being aired. "No, we will not be airing THAT ep of
#CrimePatrol," she wrote.
