The iPhone 5 has reached all over the world. Yet the bad map saga of Apple iPhone 5 is far from being over. Now the Australian police have pointed the inefficient iOS map app to save lives of motorists.
Apple recognized the weakness in the iOS map and declared that it is working on this. On 28th September this year posted a letter for customers saying “We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.” In October this year part of the problem was fixed.
The Australian Federal Police in Victoria has issued a warning this Monday urged iPhone users not to use the Apple iOS maps after it recued several people who went missing recently after following directions on the maps app. Some of them also were stranded for over 24 hours without adequate food and water.
Police has said that they have rescued 6 motorists were directed to the national park instead of the inland city they were looking for. Inside the park there is no water supply and the temperatures can go as high as 46 Degree Celsius which can cause risk to life. The Australian police also cross verified locations on the app and found that some of the locations shown are completely misleading.
