The Samsung Galaxy Grand i9082 has been finally launched in India. The phone was launched this week by the youth Icon and  the famous badminton  player  Ms. Saina Nehwal.

    The phone has a 12.7 cm (5 inch) TFT display screen  which supports 16 million colors and resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. The wide display supports viewing large font size for immersive viewing, brilliant visuals.

    The phone runs on a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and has accelerometer, geo-magnetic, gyro-sensor, proximity sensor which gives a great gaming experience on the phone. The phone weighs just 161 grams and is quite a light weight device to be carried. However, you need to a little practice to be carrying this grand screen device, as it won’t  fit into your pocket.

    The phone runs the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system that offers  fast, fluid and smooth graphics along with a new Google Search experience featuring Google Now. Google Now brings you just the right information, before you ask for it.

    The phone has got two cameras-  the rear primary camera is an 8 megapixel one with autofocus and flash LED support. The secondary camera is a 3 megapixel camera which gives great video calling facility.

    The phone has an internal memory of 8 GB (of which 4 GB is the user memory). The memory can be expanded to 64 GB using a microSD card.

    The 5 inch phone offers connectivity via Bluetooth,  Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, 2G, 3G and USB. It boasts a battery of 2100 mAh capacity which can offer 6190 minutes of talk time on 2G and 3G and 440 hours of standby time. You can charge the phone directly or, if you wish you can charge it using the USB charger also.

    This is a dual-SIM phone which can separate work and personal accounts for differing usage and pricing plans.

    At Rs 21500 the phone has similar functions as compared to the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II, but is cheaper to the two of these.

    The phone comes with the introductory offer of a Samsung genuine flip cover, 50 GB of dropbox space and free music and movie on MyService. The phone is current available in white color variant only.
