The just launched Nokia Lumia 1020 with a 41 megapixel camera on the back seems to come to India via a 'bid and win' way.
We have today spotted the phone at an online store at a price of Rs 47500. The seller has posted the phone with a coming soon tag as a bid, and says this phone will be releasing in India any time between the next quarter (September-October 2013).
[UPDATE 17 July: The bid has reached Rs 48700 today with 6 bids.
UPDATE 18 July: Today morning when we checked the bidding has already increased to Rs 51450, but only 7 bids. It is better to wait for the official release.]
The competition in Indian smartphone market has been a feature oriented competition at low prices. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is of course, the only phone camera launched this year with a 41 megapixel sensor. We expected a pre-order soon after the release from a seller. This year we have not seen any other phone model going for bidding online at this store.
We could see two bids already on the phone. This indicates that the Lumia 1020 might get a good response in the Indian market. Bidding has been spotted at eBay India.
The camera features leading ZEISS optics with six physical lenses, plus optical image stabilization, delivering crystal clear pictures even in low light conditions. It also captures blur free videos with stereo sound even at the loudest concerts thanks to Nokia Rich Recording, which handles sound pressure levels six times louder than conventional smartphone microphones. PureView technology, including optical image stabilization, makes its able to produce some of the sharpest images possible by any digital camera.
