Ahmedabad: Right after completing 11 years as the chief minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi dared Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday to fight with him in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.
The BJP strongman, who made it a point at election rallies to say that he has completed 11 years as chief minister of the state, challenged the prime minister to compete with him in executing developmental projects.
It is, however, ironical that Keshubhai Patel factor coupled with delimitation has certainly made the road tough for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi this time. The Gujarat chief minister will have to carve new strategy for his election campaign to emerge victorious given that anti-BJP and anti-Modi faction has off late shown their strength in different parts of Gujarat. So much so that the chief minister had to embrace hitherto marginalized Muslim community in the state.
Modi has been saying in all his rallies that he has fulfilled all the promises he has made since he came to power in 2001, but only time will tell this time whether his claims are true or false. (with PTI inputs)
