New Delhi: Honda Cars India has unveiled its first diesel model for India-- the Honda Amaze diesel-- at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The vehicle comes with a 1.5 litre IDTEC engine and promises to deliver a whopping 25.8 km for every litre of fuel. Honda also claims the vehicle will deliver higher fuel efficiency, better interior and boot space, and the maximum power in its class.
The Amaze will take on rivals such as Tata Indigo CS (starting at Rs 4.75 lakh) Maruti Dzire (starting at Rs 4.92 lakh), Mahindra Verito (starting at Rs 5.26 lakh) and Toyota Etios (starting at Rs 5.45 lakh).
If initial response to the vehicle is anything to go by, Amaze is most likely not to leave users disappointed. The appearance, comfort and performance of the car have been rated by most reviewers as standard Honda.
