You may be praying to god for a fancy car or a top motorbike, but let's check out what Hindu deities use for travelling! And we are talking about their lesser known, yet equally interesting favourite vehicles!
 
Hindu gods and goddesses are known to have their own animals which they use for travel and mobility. These are called vahanas (or mounts). You would known the popular vahans of a mouse (Lord Ganesha) or Shiva (Nandi, the bull) or Durga (lion) etc.
 
But today, we focus on some interesting and lesser known animals that are used as vahanas by some prominent deities. Check out...
 
1) Sheetala mata (also called Sitala), is an  incarnation of Supreme Goddess Durga, and cures poxes, sores, ghouls, pustules and protects from other diseases. She rides a donkey.
