Mumbai: Even before its release, Amir Khan’s latest flick ‘Talaash’ has already been surrounded in controversies. Many activist groups in the country have decided to boycott the film.
The issue concerns Aamir Khan’s show “Satyamev Jayate”. The activists believe that Aamir had spread a lot of anti-male sentiments most of which were allegedly based on scripted cases and fudged statistics. Episodes showing cases of dowry harassment, domestic violence, female foeticide etc. suppressed actual statistics of harassment and abuse of men and showed scripted stories of false cases.
These activists feel that shows like Satyamev Jayate contribute to the development of an anti-male society which considers men as disposable entities and has scant regards for welfare of men.
Members of these organizations will not only refrain from watching this movie but will also influence other people to stay away from watching the film, as a mark of protest against Aamir Khan’s sexist anti-male agenda on his show Satyamev Jayate.
This protest is also being observed to send a message to the society that misandry (social hatred against men) and abuse of men will not be tolerated and will be protested against severely.
Talaash is a suspense drama and also a film about coming to terms with the realities of life.
