Sendhwa: A husband sliced his tongue in a bid to win back his wife who left because he kept humiliating and insulting her.
Bunty Verma, a 32-year-old TV repairman from Khalwadi area of Sendhwa in Madhya Pradesh, blamed his tongue for the reason he was so harsh to his wife Hema, The Mail Online reported.
She packed up and left with their daughter and Verma was so upset he took drastic action and chopped off the offending body part.
In his letter, he said he was cutting off his tongue as repentance for what he had done and asked for forgiveness.
His wife has not thus far responded to the letter and the man was admitted to the government civil hospital of Sendhwa, before being referred to Indore.
Verma's friends Aslam and Sultan said told the Hindustan Times Hema was his second wife and his first had already left him a few years before.
