shivrajBhopal: As the BJP and Congress brace up to face each other in the forthcoming winter session of the assembly slated to start from November 21, mining scam is all set to rock the political scene in the state. The raids and arrest of 7 persons involved in illegal mining including close kin of a minister in the state cabinet on Saturday has provided fodder to the opposition to arraign the ruling party. The government action is also seen as an attempt to save its skin. The Saturday action is likely to have bearing on the state Congress leader Manak Agrawal's private complaint in a trial court in Bhopal against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, his three cabinetcolleagues and over a dozen others including bureaucrats. He has accused them of being involved in mining scam. The scam, according to the Congress leader, is worth over Rs 600 crore.

The Congress also lodged similar complaint with the Lokayuta through another leader Manjo Pal Singh on November 11 to corner the government.

On the other hand, one Rajendra Dixit lodged a complaint with Lokayukta against Congress MLA Sanjay Pathak's firms on November 14, demanding a probe into a scam worth Rs 5000 crore. The complainant placed on record a copy of the note-sheet prepared allegedly at the instruction of then CM Digvijay Singh on June 24, 2002 to the upper secretary, forest, to declare the forest land as revenue to allow Pathak's firms to do mining.
