Bhopal: Terming it the rarest of rare cases, a Shivpuri court in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday awarded death sentence to a woman and her paramour for brutally killing her husband and slicing his body into pieces for disposal.
Shivpuri's third upper session Judge Ramesh Shrivastav convicted Kiran Rawat and Rizwan, alias Chumbak, for the "gruesome murder" of her husband Mohan Rawat on March 2, 2011.
The beheaded body of Mohan Rawat was found from a sack near a temple on March 3 last year. Investigations revealed that Kiran had an illicit relationship with her neighbour Rizwan.
After arrest, Kiran told the police that her husband, who was a driver, used to drink a lot and forced her into sex trade. He used to bring people with him for the purpose. Rizwan was also introduced to her by Mohan. Later, both developed intimate relations.
The duo strangulated Mohan before beheading him. His head was packed in a sack and the body was thrown into a nullah.
On the basis of their interrogation, Mohan's head and the the weapon used in the crime were seized.
Police said that Mohan was eliminated by his wife and her friend after he came to know about their relationship.
