Indore: State BJP's investors cell has lodged a complaint with the state economic offences wing (EOW) seeking a detailed investigation into the alleged fraud by Speak Asia. The complaint followed a day after party president Prabhat Jha raised question about legality of the functioning of the multilayer networking company.
BJP investor cell's state coordinator Mukesh Singh Rajawat in his complaint alleged that the Singapore-based online survey company developed a huge network in Madhya Pradesh with lucrative offers and good returns in a brief time. The company, however, failed to return the promised money, he claimed, adding the complaint has been lodged with the EOW Indore unit.
Speak Asia's chief operating officer Tarak Bajpai was detained from his house at Indore by the Mumbai crime branch team in July last week.
While raising the issue during the zero hour on Friday in the Rajya Sabha, Jha said more than 20 lakh people, most of them from middle-class, have been duped of by the company on the promise of Rs 4,000 per month in return of one-time deposit of Rs 11,000.
Interestingly, the BJP's move in MP comes a day after Speak Asia posted on its website news claiming that party's national president Nitin Gadkari has assured total support in their so-called "fight for justice".
"This article is to inform all the Speak Asia family members that panelists from Nagpur have visited Nitin Gadkari's residence and as per their conservation with Gadkari, he promised to support us in our fight for justice" says the article with headline "BJP president promises to support Speak Asia".
Inspector General EOW Ajay Sharma said he has not received the complaint yet. "The Mumbai crime branch is already investigating the case. Still If we get any complaint we will looking into it and take appropriate action" he said.
