Indore: With an aim to check sensational crimes by tenants and servants, Indore police will soon introduce a system which will enable citizens to file details about their tenants and servants online.
The move comes after cases of broad daylight murders and major thefts by tenants and domestic helps surfaced lately. City police are carrying out trials of an advanced software for convenience of public that would soon began working in a week or two.
DIG (Urban) Rakesh Gupta told DNA, “A trial run is underway for a new system to maintain records online. The system will help people to file details about their tenants and servants through an online form available on Indore police website-http//www.indorepolice.org. "
Separate forms are available for servant and tenant with a number of options to fill details. The new system may be implemented within a week or two after successful trial run for online registration, the DIG added.
About servants, the employer is required to provide personal details including height, hair, tattoo marks, pet- words and speech along with a photograph, permanent and local address, identification and details of previous employer.
For tenants, the landlords have to mention type of tenants ie, family, student, single, their nature of work and profession. Landlord has to mention number of members if tenant is a family. For identification, Voter Id card, Aadhar card, Pan card, Passport and Driving license is required with a recent photograph.
The new online system will not only save time and unwarranted inconvenience for submitting forms by making several rounds at respective area police stations but also lessen chances of corruption by lower rung police personnel.
Submitting information of tenants and servants will prove to be beneficial as the details will be compiled and monitored regularly by senior police officials. Till now, the application forms used to gather dust at various police stations even as a hectic exercise was needed for physical verification by police personnel.
