Indore: Offering another chance to consumers with more than one LPG connection at the same address, the Centre late evening on Friday extended the deadline for regularization of such connections till December 31.
In a nationwide exercise to weed out multiple or ghost connections, the government had previously set November 15 as the deadline for customers to submit their duly filed KYC forms with their distributors.
Earlier the government had extended the deadline till November 30 for filling up Know Your Customer (KYC) forms.
A large number of LPG consumers were yet to fill KYC forms till November and were seen lining up in front of their respective gas agency offices till Friday evening in Indore.
On September, the Centre had announced to limit the number of subsidized LPG cylinders per person per year to six. Later the government on the basis of calculations announced that till March 2013, LPG consumers could receive three more cylinders. Most of the LPG dealers in Indore are flooded with customer applications submitted in KYC forms for preventing locking of their LPG connections.
At present the non-subsidised cylinder is available at Rs 1061, according to the recent guidelines.
