Raipur: Work at the much-awaited Kamal Vihar Ring Road project was formally kicked off on Saturday. On the first day, the authorities begun with taking measurements in and around the proposed site apart from a thorough study of the outline map.
A team of ten RDA officials apart from members from Revenue Department arrived at the proposed site on Saturday morning to start the measurement work. Officials say the initial phase of measurement is likely to be completed in next 10-15 days.
The 3.5 kilometer road, which will be covered in the first phase, will exist from Dunda Basti to Devpuri Border via Doomartarai.
However, at the same time, the already existing voices of opposition against the project have also started gaining prominence.
A group of civil society members headed by Rohit Shukla has strongly opposed the measurement works accusing government of ignoring interests of small land holders and violating land acquisition norms.
