New Delhi: RJD President Lalu Yadav blamed the Nitish Kumar government for the stampede that took place in Patna during the evening 'aragh' on Monday (November 19).
Talking to reporters at his official residence in New Delhi, Yadav expressed sorrow over the tragedy and stated it as extremely unfortunate.
Lalu said "Our women and children died when the makeshift bridge made by the administration broke down. There are reports coming that there were no facilities at the venue. "
"Nitish was in Pakistan, the administration must have eaten up all the money. Tomorrow I am going to Patna after the puja to meet the victims," he added.
At least 20 people have been died in stampede near banks of river Ganga during 'Chhat Puja' celebrations earlier this evening.
Most of the dead and injured are women and children. RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav also visited the hospital to see the people injured during the stampede and said: "More than 20 people have been died, it is the huge failure of the government and it should be ashamed."
