Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa may not have spelt out her stance on the no-confidence motion to be moved by TMC chief Mamata Banerjee in the winter session of Parliament, but has categorically mentioned that her party would vote against FDI in retail.
AIADMK Chief said, "If a no-confidence motion is brought, it should succeed. How many are supporting it and who are all backing it has to be ascertained before we take a decision. No one has approached us so far. If a request comes from any quarter, it will be examined.”
Earlier CPI (M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury had said that failed trust vote might go in favour of the UPA, which the party did not want.
